The Historic Preservation Board is considering an Ad Valorem Tax Exemption for the Gainesville Lodge at 413 West University Avenue. The project involves the removal of later additions and alterations, exterior upgrades, renovation of guestrooms, and remodeling of the lobby. The Historic Preservation Officer reviewed the completed work and found it to be in compliance with Federal Standards. Staff recommends approval of the Part II application for the tax exemption, to be forwarded to the City Commission for final approval. The project start date was May 2025, and completion was March 2026, with a total project cost of $1,500,000.00.
