Ocoee City Commission held a workshop on June 23, 2026, to discuss the Forest Lake Golf Course. The plan presented aims to not compromise property tax revenues and will be funded by other means. The workshop introduced consultants and partners including PGA of America, Beau Welling Design, First Tee Central Florida, and ZHA. The City Manager outlined objectives including providing an overview, introducing partners, discussing vision, field work, research, the Forest Lake Master Plan, and next steps. The Parks and Leisure Services Director provided an overview of course improvements and upcoming projects. The City Manager explained the vision for Forest Lake, inspired by destination golf courses, and discussed formalizing partnerships with First Tee Central Florida and North Florida PGA. Beau Welling Design's Nathan Logan presented the Master Plan, which includes three proposed phases. The first phase is underway and expected to be complete by early fall. Phase two is targeted for completion in late 2027, and phase three in the third quarter of 2028. The golf course land is owned by the wastewater utility, and utility projects, such as reclaimed water system expansion, will run concurrently with golf course improvements. The vision for the clubhouse is to create a recreation and entertainment destination. The workshop adjourned at 7:43 PM.
