The City Council approved the acquisition of three properties for the relocation of Fire Station 5. The properties are located at 26 and 36 W. Crystal Lake Drive and 2506 Taylor Avenue. The current Fire Station 5 is located at the intersection of South Orange and Kaley avenues. The City also approved a Local Agency Program (LAP) agreement with FDOT for the Virginia Drive, Forrest Avenue, and Corrine Drive Project, a 2.6-mile corridor enhancement. Additionally, the Council approved various contracts for consulting, construction, engineering, and inspection services, including work on the Conserv II Water Reclamation Facility and the Iron Bridge Water Reclamation Facility. A temporary use permit was approved for a Beep Tent at 6112 Wave Hotel Drive for two years. The Council also approved Ordinance No. 2026-16 and 2026-17 on first reading, related to the Florida Hospital Health Village DRI, and Ordinance No. 2026-19 on first reading, changing the future land use map designation for 4.2 acres at 1600 Aaron Avenue from Public Recreation and Institutional to Residential Low Intensity. Ordinance No. 2026-20 was approved on first reading, amending the Growth Management Plan to increase residential unit allowance south of Oglesby Avenue. Ordinance No. 2026-21 was approved on first reading, rezoning 4.2 acres at 1600 Aaron Avenue from Public Use to Planned Development. A legislative appeal for GMP2025-10017 (1600 Aaron Avenue) was denied, and a recommended order for the Orlando Brazilian Seventh Day Adventist Church Planned Development (QJ2026-002) was adopted.
