The Land Development Regulation Commission of Marion County met to review several agenda items. Two development proposals were discussed. One is for a new development with 150 dwelling units on 10 acres near SW 10th Street and SW 30th Avenue, potentially creating work for land clearing, utility contractors, concrete and paving companies, framers, roofers, electricians, plumbers, HVAC installers, landscapers, and material suppliers. Another proposal for a new development with 150 dwelling units on 10 acres near SE 103rd Street and SE 42nd Avenue could also offer opportunities for civil engineers, surveyors, utility contractors, concrete companies, framers, roofers, electricians, plumbers, HVAC installers, landscapers, and material suppliers. The commission also reviewed proposed changes to the Land Development Code regarding smoke shops and roadside vendors.
