BID WAIVER OF SOLE SOURCED MATERIALS

The Miami-Dade County Commission amended and approved Resolution R-464-26 on June 2, 2026, concerning the specification of sole-sourced materials and systems for Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects. This resolution allows the County Mayor or designee to advertise solicitations for CIP projects with specified sole source materials and systems, and ratifies two pending solicitations (Bid No. V100A and Bid No. T012A) that already included these sole source items. The justification for sole sourcing is based on cost, lack of interchangeability, compatibility with existing infrastructure, and avoiding prohibitive replacement costs estimated at $302,736,853.00. The decision was passed by an 11-0 vote. The MDAD is undertaking a $12 billion Modernization in Action (M.I.A.) Program.
