Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to approve a Preferential Berthing Rights Agreement between the County and Classica Cruise Operator Ltd. d/b/a Margaritaville at Sea (MVAS). The agreement is expected to generate a positive fiscal impact of at least $23,148,594.00 over a five-year term, commencing January 9, 2027, through April 30, 2031, with two optional five-year renewal terms. MVAS will operate out of Cruise Terminal C. The agreement includes incentives for off-peak utilization and traffic management. Commissioner Milan Orbis expressed appreciation for the revenue and the addition of a new cruise line, while also inquiring about the advisability of long-term agreements with new lines. Mr. Wong confirmed the agreement's advisability and noted its unique structure and five-year term with renewal options. The agreement was forwarded to the Board of County Commissioners with a favorable recommendation by the Aviation and Seaport Committee.
