Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering the approval of a competitive revenue-generating contract (Contract No. EVN0002968) for the development, operation, and management of a premium passenger lounge at Miami International Airport (MIA). The contract is proposed to be awarded to AD Partnership, LLC, with projected revenues of $93,800,000.00 over a 15-year term. The lounge will offer premium amenities and be accessible via memberships and day passes, not exclusive to any single airline. This initiative supports MIA's modernization efforts and aims to enhance passenger experience and generate non-aeronautical revenue. The Aviation and Seaport Committee forwarded the resolution with a favorable recommendation. During the committee meeting, discussions included the applicant's amenability to a labor peace agreement, which the applicant confirmed. The County Attorney clarified that labor peace compliance is a contractual requirement for the award. Commissioner Gilbert III stated he would ensure all requirements are met and would defer the item if an agreement was not reached.
