Miami-Dade County Commissioners are considering approving a competitive revenue-generating contract (Contract No. EVN0002968) for a passenger lounge at Miami International Airport (MIA). The contract is proposed to be awarded to AD Partnership, LLC for a 15-year term, with projected revenues of $93,800,000.00 for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. The lounge, to be located on the third floor of Concourse E, above Gate E7, will offer premium amenities and services to travelers, funded by memberships and day passes. The vendor will be responsible for all capital investment, build-out costs, staffing, maintenance, and operations. The Aviation Committee forwarded the resolution with a favorable recommendation. During the committee meeting, discussions included the applicant's amenability to a labor peace agreement, which the applicant confirmed. The County Attorney's office advised that labor peace compliance is a contractual requirement for the award. Commissioner Gilbert III stated he would ensure all requirements are met and would defer the item if an agreement was not reached. The proposed lounge concept is the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club.
