Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is approving a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with HDR Engineering, Inc. for general engineering and inspection services for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department at Miami International Airport. The contract, number E25AV01A, has a maximum combined amount of $41,353,125.00 for a five-year term with a five-year renewal option. HDR will provide routine construction inspection, threshold inspection, and commissioning services for various capital improvement projects, including terminal, concourse, runway, and infrastructure upgrades. The project is part of MIA's expanded modernization plan, which has increased from $9 billion to $12 billion. HDR was the first-ranked firm out of sixteen proposals received. The Aviation Department determined it lacks the in-house capabilities for these specialized services. The contract requires consideration of sea level rise and compliance with the Sustainable Buildings Program. Work will commence upon issuance of a service order.
