Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is approving a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with HDR Engineering, Inc. for general engineering and inspection services for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department at Miami International Airport. The contract, number E25AV01A, has a maximum combined amount of $41,353,125.00 for a term of five years with a potential five-year renewal. HDR will provide routine construction inspection, specialized threshold inspection, and commissioning services for various capital improvement projects, including terminal, concourse, runway, and infrastructure upgrades. The project is part of MIA's expanded modernization plan, which has increased from $9 billion to $12 billion. The Aviation Department determined it lacks the in-house capabilities for these specialized services. HDR was the first-ranked firm out of sixteen proposals received. The contract includes an 18 percent Small Business Enterprise (SBE) - A&E measure. All activities must consider sea level rise projections and comply with the County's Sustainable Buildings Program.
