Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is set to approve a contract award to Lemartec-NV2A JV, LLC for the Miami International Airport (MIA) Concourse F to H Interconnector project. The project, identified as Contract No. CA004A, involves construction services to implement post-security interconnectivity between multiple concourses at MIA. The total contract amount is $50,930,968.00, which includes a base bid of $35,999,471.00, a 10 percent contingency, an Inspector General Fee, an Art in Public Places Fee, and three dedicated allowance accounts for contaminated soil treatment, TSA office relocation/refurbishment, and permitting costs. The contract duration is 820 consecutive calendar days. The project aims to enhance operational performance, improve passenger flow, and optimize airline processes. The Aviation Department's cost consultant estimated the base bid at $54,974,729.00, making Lemartec-NV2A's bid approximately 35 percent lower. A responsibility review confirmed Lemartec-NV2A's capability to deliver the project. The project includes construction of a new four-story structure connecting Concourse G to Concourse H, tenant relocations for Concourse F to H construction, and reconfiguration of existing office spaces into secure/sterile corridors connecting Concourse F, G, and H. Funding will come from Future Financing ($30,930,968.00) and a Federal Aviation Administration Grant ($20,000,000.00). The project must comply with sustainable building practices, including LEED certification for Package 2, and consider sea level rise projections. Davis Bacon wages will apply. The Aviation and Seaport Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
