Miami-Dade County is approving a contract for the Runway Incursion Mitigation (RIM) Hot Spot 3 project at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (OPF). The project aims to enhance safety by improving airfield geometry, signage, and lighting to reduce the risk of runway incursions. General Asphalt Co., LLC was awarded the contract for construction services. The project involves demolition of existing pavements, construction of new taxiways and pavements, installation of lighting and signage, infield grading, drainage modifications, and new pavement markings. The contract duration is 480 consecutive calendar days. The project is funded by Future Financing (96%) and the Federal Aviation Administration (4%). Davis Bacon Wages are applicable.
