PASSENGER BOARDING BRIDGES (MOD)

Aviation and Seaport Committee · 2026-07-13 · resolution

Miami-Dade County's Aviation and Seaport Committee is considering a resolution to extend Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01841 for Passenger Boarding Bridges. The proposed extension is for five years, with an additional expenditure authority of $147,080,000, bringing the total modified cumulative pool amount to $297,464,300. This pool serves the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and PortMiami. The extension aims to continue procuring and installing new passenger boarding bridges, refurbishing existing ones, and purchasing parts and supplies. MDAD requests $137,080,000 for approximately 40 new bridges, refurbishment of 50 existing ones, and maintenance parts. PortMiami requests $10,000,000 for new bridges for the North Bulkhead project and modifications to existing bridges. The pool was originally established on November 11, 2021, for a five-year term and currently has eight prequalified vendors, including four local vendors, two of which are certified Small Business Enterprises (SBE). The pool will remain open for additional qualified vendors to be added. Any contract award exceeding $5,000,000, or $1,500,000 for MDAD, requires ratification by the Board. The pool term is set to expire on December 31, 2026, and if approved, the extension would push the expiration to December 31, 2031.
