PASSENGER BOARDING BRIDGES (MOD)
Aviation and Seaport Committee · 2026-07-13 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering an extension for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01841, Passenger Boarding Bridges. The proposed extension is for five years, adding $147,080,000.00 in expenditure authority, bringing the total modified cumulative pool amount to $297,464,300.00. This pool supports the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and PortMiami for the purchase and installation of new passenger boarding bridges, refurbishment of existing ones, and purchase of parts and supplies. MDAD requires $137,080,000.00 for approximately 40 new bridges and refurbishment of 50 existing ones. PortMiami requires $10,000,000.00 for new bridges for the North Bulkhead project and modifications/repairs. The pool was originally established on November 2, 2021, and currently has eight prequalified vendors, including four local vendors, two of which are certified Small Business Enterprises (SBE). The extension aims to streamline procurement processes and reduce administrative work. The Aviation and Seaport Committee forwarded the item to the BCC with a favorable recommendation.
