PASSENGER BOARDING BRIDGES (MOD)

Aviation and Seaport Committee · 2026-07-13 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to extend Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01841 for Passenger Boarding Bridges. The extension seeks an additional five years and $147,080,000 in expenditure authority, bringing the total modified cumulative pool amount to $297,464,300. This pool supports the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and PortMiami for the purchase and installation of new passenger boarding bridges, refurbishment of existing ones, and procurement of parts and supplies. MDAD requests $137,080,000 for 40 new bridges, refurbishment of 50, and parts. PortMiami requests $10,000,000 for new bridges for the North Bulkhead project and modifications. The pool was established on November 2, 2021, and currently has eight prequalified vendors, including four local vendors, two of which are certified Small Business Enterprises (SBE). The extension aims to streamline procurement processes and reduce administrative burdens. The Aviation and Seaport Committee forwarded this item to the Board with a favorable recommendation.
