PASSENGER BOARDING BRIDGES (MOD)

Aviation and Seaport Committee · 2026-07-13 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering a resolution to extend Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01841 for Passenger Boarding Bridges. The extension requests an additional five years and $147,080,000 in expenditure authority, bringing the total modified cumulative pool amount to $297,464,300. This pool supports the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and PortMiami for the purchase and installation of new passenger boarding bridges, refurbishment of existing ones, and procurement of parts and supplies. MDAD requires $137,080,000 for 40 new bridges, 50 refurbishments, and maintenance parts. PortMiami requires $10,000,000 for new bridges for the North Bulkhead project and modifications/repairs. The pool was established on November 2, 2021, and currently has eight prequalified vendors, including four local vendors, two of which are certified Small Business Enterprises (SBE). The extension aims to streamline procurement, reduce administrative work, and ensure continued operational efficiency. The Aviation and Seaport Committee forwarded the item to the Board with a favorable recommendation.
