PORT OF MIAMI CRANE MANAGEMENT, INC.
Aviation and Seaport Committee · 2026-07-13 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners is considering Amendment No. 3 to the 2012 Container Handling Crane Maintenance Management Agreement with Port of Miami Crane Management, Inc. (PMCM). This amendment waives competitive bidding and adds five additional one-year renewals to the agreement. PMCM is a nonprofit created and funded by the County to manage maintenance of seaport gantry cranes and cargo handling equipment. The estimated annual cost for renewals is $25,287,000, totaling $126,435,000 if all renewal options are exercised. The Aviation and Seaport Committee forwarded the item to the Board with a favorable recommendation. The agreement covers maintenance of container handling cranes, cargo handling equipment, Rubber-Tired Gantry Cranes (RTGs), and Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBBs). Approximately 45% of PMCM's budget is for International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) labor.
