CARPAU SPECIAL TAXING DISTRICT

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-05-19 · ordinance

Miami-Dade County adopted an ordinance creating the CARPAU Multipurpose Maintenance and Street Lighting Special Taxing District. This district is generally bounded by Theoretical SW 290 Terrace (North), Harriet Tubman Highway (East), Theoretical SW 292 Street (South), and SW 162 Avenue (West). The district will provide maintenance for landscaped swales, medians, common areas, entrance features, wetlands, and lakes, as well as street lighting services. The initial estimated cost for multipurpose maintenance is $17,460.00 ($0.0781 per assessable square foot), and for street lighting, the first year's estimated cost is $14,262.16, with subsequent years estimated at $685.11 ($3.1029 per assessable front foot). The street lighting installation and operation will be under an agreement with Homestead Energy Services. The developer, CFF Development Group, LLC, requested the district, and 100% of property owners signed the petition. The district will be managed by Miami-Dade County's Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department.
