LITTLE HAITI TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT PLANNING
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-05-19 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution ratifying the execution of a grant agreement with the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Federal Transit Administration (FTA) for $1,250,000. These funds are for the Fiscal Year 2023 Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Planning, specifically for the Little Haiti Northeast Corridor Commuter Rail Station Master TOD Plan. The plan aims to encourage equitable transit-oriented growth, enhance multimodal transportation, provide access to job centers, and encourage affordable, higher-density housing. The project is located in Commission District 3. The Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTPW) will coordinate with property owners and stakeholders to promote transit-oriented development, enhance mobility, improve connectivity and accessibility, expand bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, encourage mixed-use development, and identify public-private partnership opportunities. The work plan activities are anticipated to be completed within four years of the grant award. No matching contribution is required from Miami-Dade County.
