Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution calling for a countywide election on November 3, 2026, to allow voters to decide on maintaining a one (1) mill ad valorem tax levy exclusively for public school operating expenses. This tax, requested by the School Board of Miami-Dade County, is intended to fund improvements in teacher compensation, instructional personnel, and student safety and security for the period of July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2031. The School Board will cover all election costs. The resolution was adopted on May 19, 2026.
