Miami-Dade County adopted an ordinance creating the Julia's Estate Multipurpose Maintenance and Street Lighting Special Taxing District. The district is generally bounded by Theoretical West Oakland Haven Circle to the north and east, NE 199 Street to the south, and Lake Area to the west. It is located within a portion of Section 33, Township 51 South, Range 42 East. The district will provide maintenance for landscaped swales, medians, common areas, entrance features, wetlands, and lakes, as well as street lighting services. The initial estimated cost for multipurpose maintenance is $21,374.27 annually, and for street lighting, it is $20,739.13 for the first year and $1,042.30 for the second year. The developer, The Estates at Skylake Dev Group, LLC, is the sole property owner and requested the district. Street lighting services are expected to commence in November 2028, with maintenance services commencing after developer and association/CDD cessation of services. The ordinance was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on May 19, 2026, after a first reading on April 21, 2026.
