ACQUISITION OF THE FUEL FACILITY
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-16 · resolution
Miami-Dade County is proceeding with the acquisition of a fuel facility property located on Fisher Island, identified as Parcels 1 and 2, for the continued operation of PortMiami. The current operator, TransMontaigne Terminals, LLC, will cease operations by May 2027, and the owner, HRP Fisher Island, LLC, intends to redevelop the property for residential use. The County seeks to acquire the property via negotiation or eminent domain to ensure a continuous and permanent fuel supply for PortMiami, which is a critical economic engine for the region. Appraisals for the property range from $25 million to $430 million. The acquisition will be funded by Seaport Revenue Bonds.
