Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved the acquisition of a fuel facility property on Fisher Island, identified as Parcels 1 and 2, for PortMiami's continued and future operation. The acquisition is deemed a public necessity. The County Mayor or designee and County Attorney are authorized to acquire the property through negotiation or eminent domain, with an incentive offer up to 15 percent over appraised value. The current operator, TransMontaigne Terminals, LLC, will cease operations by May 2027, and the owner, HRP Fisher Island, LLC, intends to redevelop the property for residential housing. Appraisals range from $25 million to $430 million. Funding will come from Seaport Revenue Bonds.
