ANNUAL PUBLIC HOUSING AGENCY PLAN
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-476-26, approving the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Annual Public Housing Agency Plan. The plan introduces a weighted point system for ranking housing applicants, prioritizing groups like homeless referrals and veterans, and establishes a site-based waiting list for Helen Sawyer Plaza Assisted Living Facility. It also updates demolition and disposition activities and resident rights standards for Project-Based Voucher programs. Public comment included concerns about Housing Quality Standards enforcement and inspector training from a resident with disabilities, and questions from Commissioner Milian Orbis regarding the shift to a point-based system for housing vouchers and equitable access for elderly applicants. Commissioner McGhee inquired about the de minimis provision for demolition and its impact on redevelopment. The plan was developed with input from the Resident Advisory Board and Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to submit the plan and any necessary revisions to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
