Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-476-26, approving the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 Annual Public Housing Agency Plan. The plan, submitted by the Housing and Community Development (HCD) Department, includes establishing a site-based waiting list for Helen Sawyer Plaza Assisted Living Facility, standardizing admission preferences with a weighted point system (prioritizing homeless referrals, veterans, and special populations), and updating demolition/disposition activities. Revisions also align Project-Based Voucher (PBV) Resident Rights with HUD's PIH Notice 2025-03 and address potential conversions under the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program. The plan was made available for public comment from January 22, 2026, to March 7, 2026, with a meeting held with the Resident Advisory Board (RAB) on January 29, 2026, and discussions with Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. on March 10, 2026. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to submit the plan and any necessary revisions to HUD.
