Miami-Dade County Commission accepted a report on an agreement with South Florida Behavioral Health Network, Inc. d/b/a Thriving Mind South Florida, for behavioral health services at the Miami-Dade County Central Receiving Facility. The agreement, initially authorized by Resolution R-95-24 and effective February 26, 2024, provides $1.0 million annually for services to uninsured individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. The facility, operated by Banyan Community Health Center, Inc., served over 5,000 individuals across fiscal years 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25, meeting or exceeding performance benchmarks for intake, assessment, outpatient appointments, follow-up calls, and securing alternative appointments. Readmission rates for Crisis Stabilization Unit and detoxification services remained below contractual benchmarks. The agreement includes up to four one-year renewal options and can leverage additional Medicaid matching funds.
