Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-493-26 on June 2, 2026, approving the award of Contract No. EVN0037379 for Hauling and Disposal of Dewatered Biosolids (Group 2) to Waste Management Inc. of Florida for $101,251,800.00. This contract has an initial five-year term with one five-year option to renew for the Water and Sewer Department. The resolution also authorized the rejection of all bids received for Group 1, which pertains to hauling and disposal of dewatered biosolids. The rejection of Group 1 bids is due to recent changes in Florida law (effective April 2, 2026) that restrict biosolids disposal options and increased bid prices.
