BUS SHELTER PROGRAM WITHIN THE UMSA

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Commission considered a resolution authorizing a non-competitive designated purchase for the Bus Passenger Shelter Program. This action allows for an additional expenditure of $24,980,000, bringing the total modified amount to $54,944,885 for Contract No. RFP-01071. The funds will be used to install 500 additional bus passenger shelters with illumination systems and trash receptacles within the Unincorporated Municipal Service Area (UMSA), increasing sheltered stops to 89% of all UMSA bus stops. People's Transportation Plan (PTP) Bond Program funds will be utilized. The vendor, Outfront Media Group, LLC, is responsible for installation and maintenance, generating revenue through advertising. The contract was awarded on May 19, 2020, and has already installed 717 shelters. The decision was amended and forwarded to the County Commission.
