Miami-Dade County Commission considered a resolution authorizing a non-competitive designated purchase for the Bus Passenger Shelter Program. This action grants additional expenditure authority of $24,980,000, bringing the total modified amount to $54,944,885 for Contract No. RFP-01071. The funds will be used to install 500 additional bus passenger shelters with illumination systems and trash receptacles within the Unincorporated Municipal Service Area (UMSA), utilizing People's Transportation Plan (PTP) Bond Program funds. The vendor, Outfront Media Group, LLC, is responsible for design, installation, and maintenance, generating revenue through advertising. The program has already installed 717 shelters since 2020, and this expansion aims to increase sheltered stops in UMSA to 89%.
