Miami-Dade County Commission ratified an emergency contract for Central Chiller Plant Condenser Water Repairs (Phase 1) at Miami International Airport. The contract, valued at $305,228.00, was awarded to Botas Engineering, Inc. to address critical failures in the plant's condenser water system and structural deterioration of cooling towers, which were impacting the airport's cooling capacity and posing an operational emergency. Phase 2, involving construction services, is anticipated to cost approximately $35 million and will be bid separately. The ratification was recommended by the Aviation and Seaport Committee.
