Miami-Dade County Commissioners ratified an emergency contract (E-10658, Phase 1) for Central Chiller Plant Condenser Water Repairs at Miami International Airport (MIA) to Botas Engineering, Inc. for $305,228. The repairs are necessary due to failures in the condenser water system and structural deterioration of cooling towers, impacting the airport's cooling capacity and potentially causing operational disruptions. Phase 1 involves engineering services, while Phase 2, estimated at $35 million for construction, will be presented separately. The contract was declared an operational emergency on December 12, 2025, by MDAD's Director.
