CLAUDE PEPPER TOWER PUBLIC HOUSING SITE

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-16 · resolution

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution to declare county-owned property surplus and authorize its conveyance to the City of Miami for $10.00. The property consists of two parcels: one at the southwest corner of NW 7th Avenue/US-441 and NW 18th Terrace (442 sq ft) and another at the northeast corner of NW 8th Avenue and NW 18th Street (118 sq ft). This conveyance is for a right-of-way dedication related to the Claude Pepper Tower public housing site redevelopment project, located at 750 NW 18th Terrace. The redevelopment project, undertaken by RUDG, LLC, will consist of approximately 628 mixed-income units, replacing existing public housing units. The conveyance is a condition for obtaining building permits from the City of Miami, which requires a 25-foot radius at street intersections for right-of-way dedication. The property is not needed for county purposes and is deemed to promote community interest and welfare. The County retains a reversionary interest, meaning the property will revert to the County if the public use is discontinued.
