CONTRACT AWARD TO LEGO CONSTRUCTION

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution approving a contract award to LEGO Construction Co. for the Miami International Airport (MIA) Terminal Wide Re-roofing and Lightning System Upgrades Project No. AA078A. The contract amount is not to exceed $125,703,562.22, with a total contract period of 1,460 consecutive calendar days. Commissioner Milian Orbis inquired about solar panels, and Mr. Cutie confirmed their inclusion and explained the phased approach over four years, noting potential cost savings and reduced electric bills. The department is also considering expanding the solar panel program to parking garages. The project aims to address leaks and deficiencies in the existing roofing systems, which have exceeded their useful life.
