CONTRACT AWARD TO LEGO CONSTRUCTION

Miami-Dade County approved a contract for the Miami International Airport (MIA) Terminal Wide Re-roofing and Lightning System Upgrades Project No. AA078A. The project involves replacing approximately 410,000 square feet of roofing across North, Central, and South Terminals, upgrading lightning protection, and installing a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system. The contract was awarded to LEGO Construction Co. for an amount not to exceed $125,703,562.22. The project is expected to take 1,460 consecutive calendar days. Commissioner Milian Orbis inquired about solar panels, and Mr. Cutie confirmed their inclusion, noting the project's aim to save money and reduce electric bills.
