ELDERLY MEALS
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing an additional five years and $14,125,000.00 in expenditure authority for Prequalification Pool No. RTQ-01778, Elderly Meal Services, for the Community Services Department. This brings the total modified cumulative pool amount to $29,125,000.00. The pool provides nutritious, ready-made meals for elderly clients through adult care and senior centers, congregate meal sites, and the Meals on Wheels Program for homebound participants. The program is federally funded by the Alliance for Aging, Inc. under the Older Americans Act. The extension aims for continued efficiency, reduced administrative work for vendors and the County, and uninterrupted service delivery. Nine prequalified vendors with local addresses are currently in the pool. Any contract award under the pool exceeding $5,000,000.00 requires ratification by the Board.
