Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-496-26, approving Contract No. GC191 between the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and Miami-Dade County. This contract, effective for a five-year term from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031, delegates petroleum contamination cleanup site management activities to the County. The County will be compensated an estimated total of $13,009,610.00 over the contract term, with approximately $2,601,922.00 allocated for FY 2026-2027. The contract covers services Countywide, including review of technical reports, management of subconsultant/subcontractor activities, and administrative duties related to the Petroleum Restoration Program. The Department of Environmental Resources Management (DERM) has been providing these services since 1988. The resolution authorizes the County Mayor or designee to execute the contract and any amendments for time extensions under specific conditions. The Environmental Monitoring and Restoration Division Chief within DERM will monitor the contract activities.
