Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the execution of a Fiscal Year 2025-26 contract with the State of Florida Department of Health. The contract, in the amount of $1,133,000.00, is effective retroactively from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026, for the purpose of meeting public health needs of the citizens of Miami-Dade County. The resolution also authorizes the County Mayor or designee to execute the agreement and future agreements for additional funds. The total program cost is $87,580,952, with $51,015,587 from the State of Florida and $36,565,365 in local contributions. The County's cash contribution of $1,133,000 is provided by Jackson Health System. The State of Florida Department of Health is responsible for construction, maintenance, repair, improvements, utilities, janitorial, and custodial services for DOH-used buildings not owned by the County, and must maintain facilities in compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements, including the American with Disabilities Act.
