Miami-Dade County Commission adopted Resolution R-544-26, authorizing an additional expenditure of $187,000.00 for Contract No. BW7172-2/29, which covers the Automated Fingerprinting ID System and Maintenance for the Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation Department and the Community Services Department. This brings the total modified contract amount to $783,851.00. The purpose is to upgrade aging and obsolete Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) equipment, including palmprint scanners and LiveScan capture systems, and to ensure interoperability with the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office's cloud-based AFIS platform. The existing equipment was implemented in 2013 and has reached end-of-life status. The contract, originally established in 2013, is set to expire on September 30, 2028. Idemia Identity & Security USA LLC is the awarded vendor.
