HOLE IN THE DOUGHNUT CONVEYANCE
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved the conveyance of 32 acres of vacant county-owned land adjacent to the Homestead Air Reserve Base to the United States of America, acting through the Department of the Air Force. The land, identified by portions of Folio Nos. 30-7901-000-0090, 30-7901-000-0210, and 30-7901-000-0220, will be conveyed at no cost for military purposes to support national defense interests. The Board waived appraisal requirements and approved the form of the County Deed. The decision was made by an 11-0 vote on June 2, 2026, with two commissioners absent. The property was originally transferred to the County from the U.S. Government at no cost and will be returned under similar terms. Water main extensions will be required for connectivity, and the Air Force must obtain easements. An environmental baseline study by HARB is pending.
