INCREASING SECURITY GUARD

Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · ordinance

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance approving and ratifying non-ad valorem assessment rolls, rates, and assessments for 20 certain security guard special taxing districts for the fiscal year commencing October 1, 2026, and ending September 30, 2027. The total assessment for these 20 districts is $10,490,955. These assessments are necessary to fund security guard services, including contractual increases from private security companies and off-duty police, to maintain the required level of service. The assessments will be placed on the 2026 real property tax bills and will constitute a special assessment lien upon real property. The ordinance was adopted on first reading on May 5, 2026, and finally adopted on June 2, 2026. Exhibit A, which contains the legal descriptions, units of measurement, and assessment amounts for each district, is incorporated by reference but not fully detailed in this document.
