Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-558-26, authorizing the negotiation and execution of amendments to lease and land use plans for the Mental Health Center located at 2200 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, Florida 33127. The resolution approves non-competitive designated purchase contracts for services at the Center totaling up to $45,687,127.00 over an initial three-year term. Contracts include up to $27,218,627.00 for The Village South, Inc. (and its parent WestCare Foundation, Inc.) for mental health services, and up to $4,169,861.00 for The Advocate Program Inc. for ancillary services. Additional estimated operating costs to the County are not to exceed $14,298,639.00 annually. The resolution also approves the Miami-Dade County Opioid Funding Disbursement and Implementation Plan for Fiscal Year 2025-2026 through September 30, 2031. It directs the County Mayor to issue expedited Requests for Proposals for mental health and substance use disorder outpatient treatment services, and transitional housing and supportive services. The resolution mandates research, data collection, oversight, and biannual reviews and reports, involving the Miami-Dade County Behavioral Health Advisory Board and Jackson Health System. County policy is established that core County services will not be impacted by funding for the Center.
