Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners approved an additional expenditure authority of $61,320,728.00 for Contract No. D-10253, Motorola Public Safety Radios and Capital Infrastructure. This modification brings the total contract amount to $121,320,728.00 and supports multiple county departments, including the Fire Rescue Department (MDFR), Corrections and Rehabilitation Department (MDCR), and Communications, Information and Technology Department (CITD). The MDCR requires replacement of approximately 2,800 aging radios that are nearly 17 years old, exceeding their seven-year useful life. MDFR requires funding for phases one and two of the Integrated Command and Communications Center (IC3), system operations, maintenance, and equipment for new vehicles.
