Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-490-26, authorizing an extension of Prequalification Pool No. EVN0043091 (also referenced as RTQ-01468) for OEM Repair and Service for Fire Rescue Equipment. This extension grants an additional five years and increases the expenditure authority by $17,600,000.00, bringing the total modified cumulative pool amount to $36,202,842.00. The pool serves the Miami Dade Aviation Department (MDAD) and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department (MDFR) for maintenance and repair of fire suppression, construction, and heavy-duty motor vehicles. Contract awards exceeding $5,000,000.00, or $1,500,000.00 for MDAD, require Board ratification. The Safety and Health Committee forwarded the item with a favorable recommendation. The pool was initially established on January 20, 2021, with an allocation of $6,769,000 for a five-year term. The extension is expected to streamline processes, reduce administrative burdens for vendors, and ensure critical fire rescue apparatus remain operational. Due diligence was performed on prequalified vendors with no adverse findings. Small Business Enterprise measures and Local Preference will be applied at the time of spot market competition.
