PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH ARQUITECTONICA

Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R-504-26, approving the first amendment to the Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Arquitectonica International, Inc. for the Coconut Grove Playhouse project (Project No. A-14-CUA-01). This amendment increases the contract amount by $4,248,887.00, bringing the total contract value to $6,647,567.00. The additional funds cover design, construction documents, and construction administration services for a new parking garage building, as well as compensation for additional professional services related to the original scope due to regulatory delays and prolonged litigation. The contract term is extended from six years to a total of 14 years, with two additional one-year options. Funding will come from Convention Development Tax Bonds (Special Obligation Bond Series 2005) and parking revenues. The project has experienced significant delays due to legal proceedings and regulatory reviews, including appeals to the Historic and Environmental Preservation Board and the Planning Zoning and Appeals Board, and court rulings culminating in October 2024.
