Miami-Dade County Commissioners approved the first amendment to a joint development agreement for the Palmetto Station Transit-Oriented Development Project. This amendment restructures the project to allow developers to enter ground leases directly with the County, improving financeability while preserving the Foundation's role in youth housing. The project will include a minimum of 929 workforce and community housing units, with an optional future phase for 212 additional units. It will also feature workforce, military, transit operator, and youth housing, commercial and office space, station improvements, structured parking facilities (preserving 550 transit-user spaces), and transit-supportive infrastructure. The parking facilities will be built and maintained by the developer at no cost to the County. The Board adopted the resolution with a 12-0 vote.
