Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution authorizing the negotiation of an agreement with ANDE Corporation to purchase three ANDE Rapid DNA Systems. The county will also apply for and receive grant funds from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement totaling approximately $7,903,270.00 to cover the cost of these systems, which are intended for use in the Corrections and Rehabilitation Department's intake and release areas to expedite identification processes and aid in solving criminal activity. The resolution waives a previous requirement regarding agreement execution.
