Miami-Dade County adopted a resolution declaring certain firefighting equipment surplus and authorizing its donation to the municipality of Utica, Cundinamarca, Colombia. The equipment, consisting of 24 jackets, 24 pants, 24 hoods, 24 sets of gloves, 24 pairs of boots, 24 helmets, and 24 ear flaps, was found to be obsolete and unusable by county departments or local organizations. The waiver of standard surplus property disposition procedures required a two-thirds vote. The recipient municipality is responsible for all transfer costs and must take possession within 90 days.
