RESOLUTION DECLARING SURPLUS EQUIPMENT

Miami-Dade County Commission adopted Resolution R-499-26 on June 2, 2026, declaring certain firefighting equipment surplus and authorizing its donation to Alcada Municipal, Utica, Cundinamarca, Colombia. The equipment, including 24 jackets, 24 pants, 24 hoods, 24 sets of gloves, 24 pairs of boots, 24 helmets, and 24 ear flaps, is deemed obsolete and cannot be legally used by other County departments, municipalities within Miami-Dade, or eligible community-based organizations. The waiver of standard surplus property disposition procedures was approved by a two-thirds vote. The recipient municipality is responsible for all transfer costs and must take possession within 90 days of the resolution's effective date.
