RESTRICTIVE COVENANTS ON VIZCAYA MUSEUM
Board of County Commissioners · 2026-06-02 · resolution
Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution approving terms for two Declarations of Restrictive Covenants on Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. The first covenant is for the preservation of the Superintendent's House for 15 years, in exchange for a $500,000 Federal Save America's Treasures Grant. The second covenant is for the preservation of the Main House Swimming Pool Grotto for 20 years, in exchange for a $750,000 Federal Save America's Treasures Grant. Resolution No. R-983-24 was rescinded to reflect new terms for the Superintendent's House covenant. The County Mayor or designee is authorized to execute and record these declarations. The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens Trust, Inc. will provide matching funds for both grants: $500,000 from County Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond funds for the Superintendent's House, and $750,000 from Countywide Infrastructure Investment Program funds for the Swimming Pool Grotto.
