Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution directing the International Trade Consortium (ITC) to negotiate and prepare a Sister Cities Agreement with Lima, Peru. The agreement aims to foster cultural, art, educational, business, and technical exchanges. Lima, Peru, is highlighted as a major metropolitan center and the principal driver of Peru's economy, with significant trade opportunities due to the Port of Callao's direct shipping routes with PortMiami and Jorge Chávez International Airport's connectivity. The ITC is also directed to monitor the agreement's performance and report back to the Board.
